Courtyard by Marriott Hammond

I lived in this hotel for a month during a cleanup in Tangipahoa Parish. The hotel is clean, in a central location, and staff were friendly and accommodating. Big shoutout to Princess at the front desk and Michelle at the bar! Them and their teams were so accommodating and nice. Made being away from home so much easier.

Tyronica at the front desk is so kind and helpful. Even at midnight, she was warm and welcoming. What a gem. Unrelated: there is NO electric vehicle charging. Expedia incorrectly assured me “100%” there is EV charging — could have been a major problem if I had believed them.

The staff was super friendly and welcomed us with smiling faces and were very helpful when we arrived. Princess was the lady that checked us in and the other lady, my apologies cannot remember her name but would highly recommend them. Our stay was on Oct. 30 with checkout on Oct. 31. Very pleased with our stay.

Lemme tell ya, the staff at the front desk makes this place! Brianna (I hope I spelled it right) you in particular turned what started as a frustrating day/stay into a pleasant one. You welcomed us into that place like we was old friends. Made both my daughter and myself feel like we were wanted there. I have absolutely zero complaints about any of the staff! Even when we came in the last night feeling (and looking) like hot trash becasue we just got done hauling shrimp and crabs from the bayou to my parents house, we got a very friendly "welcome back". Thank you guys so much for the southern hospitality. As far as the rooms go, they were clean but they could definitely use a little updating. Some of the furniture had some cosmetic imperfections and the drawer to the table between the beds wouldn't stay closed. But the beds were clean and comfortable and the AC worked well and the curtain closed tightly enough to keep all the light out so we could sleep in a pinch. The only noises we heard was the train once or twice a night. And most importantly, us 2 girls felt safe here. We will definitely stay here again!

If there were a sixth star, I’d give it to Star at the Courtyard by Marriott in Hammond, LA. From the second I walked through the doors, she didn’t just check me in — she set the tone for my entire stay. Her energy is electric, her kindness is genuine, and her professionalism is on another level. Star doesn’t just do her job — she owns it. She greeted me like family, made sure every detail of my stay was perfect, and somehow managed to brighten every moment with her smile and positivity. In a world where great service is getting harder to find, Star is a reminder of what true hospitality looks like. It’s not every day you meet someone who turns a simple hotel stay into an experience worth remembering, but Star did exactly that. Marriott, if you’re reading this — hold onto her tight. She’s the kind of person who makes your guests want to come back again and again. Star, you’re not just part of the Courtyard — you’re the heartbeat of it.

Three complaints about this hotel. The front desk girl asked if I was in town for business or pleasure... That's really none of her business! Second complaint, why does it always happen that I get put on a floor with NO ice machine? Frustrates the heck out of me. Lastly, I had a late check out for 2pm AND a do not disturb sign hanging on the door handle out in the hallway. At around 12,10pm, a housekeeping employee opens the door to my room and didn't even knock or say "housekeeping". Scared the crap out of me as I was working at the computer desk. NOT GOOD!!

I'm doing this review a bit late, but did not want to let this go. I was traveling from Austin to Florida and this was my first night's stay. I am a longtime Bonvoy member and love my Courtyards. I will say while I don't remember my room that well I do remember that it was clean and consistent with the brand. What I do remember is that I was greeted by Tyronica who stuck out as friendly and welcoming for my quick stay. I wanted to express a thank you for being a perfect greeting when I arrived around 11pm or so after a long drive.

Savannah at the front desk was absolutely amazing! She greeted me with such a warm, welcoming attitude and made check in super easy. She went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed and answered all my questions with a smile. You can tell she really cares about her guests and enjoys what she does. Definitely one of the friendliest hotel staff I’ve ever met. She made my stay at The Courtyard by Marriott in Hammond a great experience!
